Late Post: Since it was going to be the start of a new semester for my juniors, I decided to take them out for a treat. Since we were craving for some good ramen we headed down to Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King at Orchid Hotel for dinner!

Before I go slurping into the noodles, let me introduce to you what is so special about Tonkotsu ramen apart from the other ramens you had.

Tonkotsu (豚骨, Pork Bone)

Particularly popular around Kyushu, Tonkotsu ramen is made of pork bones which have been boiled down until they dissolve into a cloudy white broth. The thick, creamy soup is also often flavored with chicken broth and pork fat.

There is always a queue here, for the reasons that the ramen is really quite authentically delicious, and the shop can only sit about twenty.

You can choose between the basic Tonkotsu Ramen ($10.80), Black Spicy ($11.80) or Red Spicy ($11.80). I would suggest a Tonkotsu Ramen Special All Toppings ($14.80), and you can also indicate if you want your soup to be light, normal or strong.

While waiting for your order, the restaurants provide free flow of Bean Sprout and Hard Boiled Eggs, plus you get to pound and crush your black and white sesame seeds to mix into your soup ( a genius idea of keeping you entertained while waiting for your ramen.)

We also ordered this limited edition Japanese Sakura Cola which you can only find it in this Ramen Chain and not elsewhere. Sakura Cola over normal coke anytime!

Loved the very traditional cozy ambiance with retro posters pasted all around, and excellent service from the Japanese staff. My only complaint: they don’t accept NETs or cards, so you better come with extra cash.

By the way, if you are craving for Ramen, I've got you covered below ;)
