Ive been playing the sims 3 since 2010 and have almost every expansion pack and after that I got the sims 2 ultimate collection in 2014 and have been playing that for a while. I also have the sims 4 and the expansion packs get to work, and game pack Outdoor Retreat but, Having no toddlers in the game really bugs me so I haven't touched it since >:(

i've been playing the sims since the original in 2000 or 2001 sims and have owned sims 2 & 3 with the expansions now considering getting 4 just need a better computer to run it without the lag.

Sims 3 is definitely the best sims so far. Well ,except for how laggy it is if you toggle every single expansion pack.
But considering Sims 3 has seasons (expansion), toddlers and no loading screen from area to area, I don't see why people would be too vested into Sims 4 just as yet since Sims 3 is still the bomb.
