This song makes me emotional - always played during graduation ceremonies etc.

I find this song sad only because of the music video. Watched it years ago and bawled my eyes out. Years later I'm still bawling.


Also this song also gets me because of the origin of it - its a song about his son who fell to his death

Mine is a song called 10.000 days by the band Tool. It (and the rest of the album it's from) is about the vocalist's mother who suffered a brain aneurysm and was put in a vegetive state when he was very young. The title is a reference to the around 10.000 days (about 27 years) she lived and suffered like this before she passed away. The song is a tribute to her and how she never lost her faith, and the vocalist attributes all his achievements to her light. It is very powerful and beautiful, and my favourite verse from it is;

'You're the only one who can hold your head up high.
Shake your fist at the gates saying,
"I have come home now...!"
Fetch me the spirit, the son and the father.
Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended.'

This song was sad at first then a tragedy happened and it became even sadder.
It was used as a memoire for the members of the group that lives got taken away after a car accident :(

Nonetheless, it is one of my favorite songs ever.
It doesn't make me feel sad though, makes me feel at peace somehow.
