Have you ever wondered what the whole fuss is about when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest? You may have heard Polska.pl and Baevus talking about it on the radio as if it is some huge annual event. Well... it kinda is.

The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the longest running television shows in the world. It was on the 24th of May, 1956, that Europe saw the first ever Eurovision Song Contest. After all those years, the contest is one of the most typical European traditions and without doubt, Europes favourite TV show! 2017 will be the 62nd anniversary of the contest and it is due to be hosted in Ukraine. Millions of viewers across Europe and other parts of the world are expected to tune in to the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest this year. You can watch the two Semi-Finals on 9 & 11 May with the Grand Final on 13 May 2017, live from 21:00 CEST.

Each participating nation sends a singer and a song. Then, citizens of Europe are invited to vote for their favourite song to win the title of 'Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest'. You can't vote for your own country, though! The winning nation then has the rights to host the contest in their country in the following year. It is somewhat an achievement if you are lucky enough to win! I'll be sure to give you more information about the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest in the coming months.
