The Brit Awards are back! Every year, the UK rewards musicians around the globe in 11 major categories (including British and Internaitonal). The Brits are essentially the British equivalent of the Grammy Awards in the United States. The ceremony has been running since 1977 and have seen some of the most controversial and spectacular performances of all time.

Who's Performing?

The line-up for the prestigious ceremony, held at London's O2 tonight does not disappoint with the likes of Adele, The Weeknd, Coldplay and Justin Bieber. Other acts recently announced include some of the best new British talent such as James Bay, Jess Glynne and Little Mix.

There'll also be a touching tribute to the late David Bowie at some point in the show.

Trophy Design

The design of the trophy changes each year, as the organisers ask a different artist or fashion designer to put their stamp on the iconic Brit. The trophies this year have been designed by Pam Hogg, a Scottish fashion legend. Each trophy is unique to the winner, with a different style depending on the category. Past trophy designers include Vivienne Westwood, Philip Treacy and Damien Hirst.
