The Super Bowl is an annual sporting event held in the USA to determine the champions of the National Football League (NFL). The Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos in what is described as the biggest stand alone sporting event in the world.

However, as with most years, the majority of the world is drawn to the event for the Halftime Show. This is the mid point of the game, where the organisers enlist famous artists to perform for 15 minutes straight. This years halftime slot has been given to one of the biggest bands in the world, Coldplay. Coldplay have just released their seventh studio album 'A Head Full of Dreams' so it makes perfect sense for them to perform their new material at the prestigious event.

But the organisers didn't stop there... They seemed to think Coldplay weren't a big enough addition to the event so they asked Beyoncé to come along and help. Beyoncé is set to perform just one song at the halftime show, but I'm sure it'll be one we won't forget! Just yesterday the songstress released the surprise song 'Formation' which deals with the issues of police brutality and racism in the country. The halftime show is watched by over 100 million viewers, on average, so it would be the perfect opportunity for Beyoncé to make a statement. There are also rumours that Bruno Mars may be joining in on the action to perform alongside Coldplay. Both Beyoncé and Bruno Mars have performed at the event before so they're sure to put on a brilliant show for viewers.

What a night it's shaping up to be, and just when you thought it couldn't get much better, the NFL announced that Lady Gaga will be performing the national anthem of the USA before the game. Past performers include Christina Aguilera,
Whitney Houston and Kelly Clarkson, and I'm sure Gaga will also deliver a stellar performance!

Good luck to both teams and good luck to all performers!
