Life's Simple Pleasures

A hot drink on a cold day. Climbing into bed that has been made with fresh, clean sheets. Watching the stars as you lie underneath the sky. Making someone else smile. The smell of freshly-baked cookies or brownies. Having a relaxing bath. Listening to your favorite song/music. Lie-ins on your days off school/work. Cuddling your fluffy pets. Being surrounded by your loved ones. Smiling and laughing. Making positive/happy memories. Getting out of debt. Eating amazingly-delicious foods. A nice and gentle breeze of fresh air as you step outside. Taking that first bite of your dessert. Watching a funny movie. Accomplishing a huge task. Helping others in need. Viewing a sunset or sunrise. Getting the last item in stock. Swinging on a swing. Smiling and saying hello to a stranger and they do the same back to you. Stretching after sitting down for a while. Visiting museums and art galleries. Seeing/hearing a baby smiling and laughing. The sound of nature and ocean waves.....

Old Habbo Nostalgia

This isn't really a blog post per say, but it's just looking back on the old Habbo and remembering what it was like. I've collected photos from Google images and Twitter (I definitely don't take credit for them)! There are some I've made into a GIF because of more than one screenshot. I still miss it (as I'm sure most people do), and I wish it all came back (the bits I remember anyway), so....here's to the old Habbo memories and I hope you enjoy taking a trip down memory lane! 'Sweet & Sour (or Honey-ish) Chicken and Rice' Recipe

INGREDIENTS: - Cornstarch or cornflour, it's the the same thing (enough to cover all of the chicken pieces) - 8 medium eggs cracked into and whipped/mixed up in a medium pyrex bowl - Enough vegetable oil to go into the pan for deep-frying - 1 or 2 medium packs of chicken breasts either diced or not (they'll need to be diced anyway in the following steps) - 4 tablespoons of garlic powder/granules - 8 '1/4' cups of Heinz ketchup (or any ketchup brand, I guess) - 8 tablespoons of dark or light soy sauce - 4 or 5 '1/2' cups of white sugar - Sesame seeds (optional) PREPARATION: - Dice up the chicken if not already cut up. - Get out some large plates and put doubled paper towels on them. - Pour vegetable oil into a large deep pan (enough to deep fry the chicken pieces) and turn on the stove ring so that it heats up while you're doing the next steps. - Bit by bit, cover every chicken piece with cornstarch/cornflour, and then dip thoroughly into the egg mixture, and then into the sizzling deep pan of oil. Make sure you break the chicken pieces up as they might get stuck together in the pan. - Once the chicken pieces are golden brown on the outside and tender white on the inside (you can cut apart one chicken piece per set to see the inside), take them out with a cooking draining spoon (the one with holes in it) and put ....

Weird, Interesting (and Probably Annoying) Facts About Me

I know I've done 50 random facts about me in a previous blog post, but I've realized how strange (or interesting) I can be and have thought of more facts for you readers. 1, When ripping up paper that has my personal information on it (e.g. ,my name and address from a letter or something), I like to put a few bits into one trash can/rubbish bin, a few other bits into another one, and so on. That way, hopefully no one can get all of the information in one spot. 2. I hate odd numbers (1, 3, 5, etc). They make me feel uneasy, and I usually make sure I have the number of events (that I've hosted so far) set to an even number (2, 4, 6, etc). 3. Now and then, I have days where I just shut down and not talk to anyone because I'm mentally exhausted, and just being around so many people for so long tires me out too. There's nothing wrong between us, it's just me who needs a lot of time alone or else I go crazy inside. 4. I used to have a 'pet rock'....... 5. I love soda/pop so much, mainly for that bubbly/fizzy sensation when it hits the back of your throat. I love that part and I don't know why. 6. When I clean, I mean I CLEAN, and you can't stop me. And by 'clean', ....

Pet Peeves/Annoying Things

There are so many, and more that I cba to list now. Here are most of mine anyway! When some people say to me, "Wow, you're short!" I think I know that already, thanks. When some people at a bus stop (with only 1 bus connected with it) ask me if the bus came when it's clearly way past the 'due' time. I'm obviously getting the next one, otherwise I wouldn't be here. When some people tell me that I'm quiet and should talk more often. Thanks for pointing that out. I don't tell you to shut up because you're loud/noisy, but god forbid if I'm quiet.  When some people at the gym snigger/laugh at overweight people there. There's no need. They're trying at least. When some people chew food with their mouth open.  Close it! No one wants to see it rolling around in your mouth while covered in saliva.  When some people don't flush the toilet after using it. Flush it! No one wants to see your animal droppings.  When some people cough without covering their mouth.  Stop spreading your germs. When some people talk constantly and never shut up; they feel the need to fill in the silence every time.  Please stop. The beauty of silence is being ruined. When some people who drive don't use their L and R indicators before making a turn. ....

50 Totally Random Facts About Me

Just thought you guys would like to get to know me better. I know I've done some facts before in a forum post, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to list many more. I mean, if you're interested, then please read on! :) 1) I've a slight fear of very large bodies of water, like deep seas/oceans. I mean, I'll go onto a boat, but there's a little fear in the back of my head.  2) Because of Fact 1, I can't swim, and have never trusted anybody to teach me. I just refuse and close up. I've almost drowned before (when I was younger) when my Dad decided to balance me on his one index finger in the deep end of a beach (idk why), and I went right under. And another time was when I slipped on another sandy beach and the waves kept crashing over me, and I couldn't even catch a breath. Both were traumatic times for me, and I still haven't gotten over them....I just try to stay away from huge bodies of water and pools these days. 3) I hate crusts in food - on pizzas and loaves of bread, stuff like that. 4) I'm not into 'Harry Potter', 'Merlin', 'The Lord of the Rings', 'Fantastic Beasts' or 'Doctor Who'. SUE ME. 5) I enjoy eating cake, but too much icing puts me off. 6) I'm in between a tomboy ....

In Her Mind

It's early and the sun is shining. Good morning! Gets ready and dresses herself. Here's to another day.... Thoughts race through her head. I wonder what today will be like.... Phone rings. I'm not answering that. Phone continues ringing. I should answer that, but I hate talking on the phone. Phone stops ringing. Phew! Walking out the door. Hope this bus comes on time! Cars/drivers zoom past her. I hope they aren't watching me as they drive by me.... A loud truck zooms past her. Ugh, so loud. Waiting for the bus. Where is the bus? Bus arrives. Oh god, it's full of passengers who are staring at me right now through the window.... Scans in her bus pass. Please be successful.... Bus ticket comes out. Yay. Finds her seat. Found one. Bus is moving along a busy road. Need my music right now. Music on. World off. Bus arrives at her destination. Ugh, time to socialize. Entering into a store/shop. It's so busy and loud.... Tries to find what she needs. Where is it? Why can't I find it? I don't want to ask for help.... A shelf-stacker looks over at her. Play it cool. Ignore her watchful eyes.... Finds what she needs. YES, finally! Heads over to the checkout till. People are looking at me as if I don't know what I'm doing.... Places her stuff onto the checkout. Don't drop anything, don't ....

'Roasted Garlic Potatoes' Recipe

INGREDIENTS: - 5 or so large potatoes, sliced - 4 tablespoons of olive or vegetable oil - 4 teaspoons of garlic powder - 4 teaspoons of oregano or basil - 2 teaspoon of paprika - Salt to taste PREPARATION: - Preheat your oven to 200˚C (400˚F). - Cover the lining of a baking tray with foil (it saves the washing up, hopefully!). - Place your sliced potato pieces into a large bowl and drizzle oil all over them. (If you want to, halfway through the cooking time, move around/turn over the potato slices)....

Where Is The Love? (Terror Attacks and Bombings)

In view of what has happened lately in Manchester.....innocent children seeing one of their favorite singers without knowing that death and tragedy was right around the corner. We must never forget that there are still many terror/bomb attacks and many people suffering in this world, old and young. "What's wrong with the world, mama? People livin' like they ain't got no mamas I think the whole world addicted to the drama Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism But we still got terrorists here livin' In the USA, the big CIA The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK But if you only have love for your own race Then you only leave space to discriminate And to discriminate only generates hate And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah Madness is what you demonstrate And that's exactly how anger works and operates Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight Take control of your mind and meditate Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preach? Or would you turn the other cheek? ..... It just ain't the same, old ways have changed New days are strange, is the world insane? If love and peace are so strong Why are there pieces of love that don't belong? Nations ....

Love Poetry/Story

The sunlight's rays bouncing off the icy leaves made them look like rare, sparkling gemstones in the crispy, but golden winter. The cool wind made the flowers appear as if they were dancing along the luscious green grass in the awakening of singing birds.  Fresh air was inhaled while little smokey clouds were exhaled because of the cold temperature.  Hand in hand, fingers intertwined, the rustle of icy leaves laid out on the path could be heard after their every step.  Laughter and smiles, and memories being created; these were the moments worth living for. Sat on the grass together, her head leaned into his body, and his arms embraced her. There it was, that feeling of warmth, comfort and being wanted. The sun was slowly setting and the day was almost over, but for them, it was only just the beginning of witnessing their first beautiful sunset together. The date was almost over....until they agreed to see each other again....and again....and again.... Then there were those three words said to each other officially...."I love you." Their lips locked with each other, and colorful fireworks went off in their heads.  They felt invincible as if they could fly; it was them together against the world.....
